Sources and attribution

Operational notices shown on this site are aggregated from official and public maritime authorities. Each item remains attributable to the originating source and is displayed with that source, its reference where one exists, its publication time and a direct link to the original notice wherever the source provides one.

Automated summaries are generated from the text of the original notice. They are navigational aids to reading, not substitutes for the original notice, and not substitutes for official voyage safety information. Where a notice states no position, no coordinates are stored and no map marker is shown; we do not infer or invent positions.

Reviewed briefings are written and checked by our operations team before publication and are marked as reviewed. They are kept entirely separate from automated notice summaries.

Sources currently in scope include UKMTO warnings and notices, NAVAREA navigational warnings, MSCHOA advisories, canal authority circulars and port authority notices. Collector status — including whether each source is enabled and when it last succeeded — is visible on the source status view.
